Want to come along?? No, seriously. Want to?
1. check out www.agoda.com for cheap hotels. you might want to have a few days of nice places to stay in.
ReplyDelete4. visa on arrival for indonesia. border control is always asking where you will stay so knowing something in advance is a good idea.
8. i think isic things work better in europe than in asia. i mean, i think about what they offer as discounts. i doubt street vendors and hawkers would be on there.
15. unless you are getting cash from friends, you would be better off getting the majority of your cash from ATMs. Stanford FCU's debit card does not charge any international fees. They give good exchange rates too. NO fees!!! Bank of America will charge you 3% and $5 for EVERY international ATM withdrawal. Highly recommend the FCU account!
Oh, one more note on #15. Have some USD on you as well. Sometimes it might be necessary to exchange cash through money changers... this happened to me in KL where all 5 of the ATMs at the airport were either broken or wouldn't take my cards!
